I love the term "midlife awakening!" In 2018, at the age of 43, I took an early retirement from a 20 year career in public education in California and moved to Jamaica. So many in my life said I was having a midlife crisis and my response was "if this is a crisis, I should have started it a long time ago! This is the best crisis I've ever had in my life!" I stand by that as I sit here in my humble rented home in Jamaica, coffee by my side, perusing Substack on a Monday morning at 10:46 am while all of my friends in my former life are at work, rolling their eyes that another week is before them. Midlife is my jam, even with the ups and downs. Cheers to a midlife awakening! ❤️
